Why the name Chakaria

"Chakaria 'naming more than one report noted, but "cakaroa" Chakaria the origin of the name. Chak being an indigenous community. Village is called "roa" in chak language. And the proof of the Tripura kings 'rajamala' book. This is mentioned Chakroa village in rajamala books. This is the current Kakara "cakaroa" village.  At present Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban district whose existence. Chak community was lived in Kakara. So, Kakara was identified as a cakaroa. Chakaria name from the cakaroa. In this regard, based on historical evidence.The name originated 2000 BC.

Note also that, Khoda Box was frist appointed as governor of the Cakaroa village (present Kakara) during the reign of the sultans.

However, Chakaria Upazila: It lies in a Upazila of Cox's Bazar district. Chakaria Thana was formed in 1793 it was turned into an upazila in 1983.
